THE DOPPLER EFFECT
A change in the frequency of energy waves as the source and the observer move toward, or away from each other. The Doppler Effect is responsible for the change in the tone of passing cars, and Red Shift. As waves move toward the observer, they get squished and the frequency gets higher, making the source sound higher in pitch or appear bluer in color. As waves move away, they stretch out and sound lower in pitch to the observer, and will appear redder in color. For a galaxy to be moving so fast, that it exceeds our spectrum of visible light, it would have to be going at least 288,ooo Km per hour because that's when it has red shifted past 700.
